Discover the inspiring journey of Cinnamon Ridge Farm, where innovation meets tradition in sustainable farming, and learn how this family-owned operation has grown to produce exceptional dairy products and more.
Welcome to the heart of our farm, where the story of Cinnamon Ridge Farm began in 1988. Our farm holds a special place in our hearts, marking the beginning of our legacy. Purchased with a vision and a dream, it was a farm that had been rented out and neglected. However, this presented us with a unique opportunity to start fresh and turn our dream of owning a farm into reality.
Cinnamon Ridge Farms is a true family-owned and operated century farm. For five generations, the Maxwell’s have been farming and thriving in Iowa.
John grew up near Walcott, IA, on the Century Farm. He began milking cows at a young age and later graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Psychology. His leadership and entrepreneurial spirit transformed a neglected farm into an award-winning one.
Joan grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota, where she started driving tractors and raising calves at a young age. She has a business degree from Concordia University and manages the farm's data.
Amy, the sixth generation of the family, manages all the dairy operations on the farm. She has led the herd to win awards and is a graduate of Iowa State University.
Edwin is our cheesemaker. He and John dreamed of having the top Jersey herd in the US, and they achieved this goal in 2018.
For the Maxwell’s, sustainable practices are a way of life, not just a trend. Long before regenerative agriculture was popular, we were already using techniques that benefit both our land and livestock.
At Cinnamon Ridge Dairy Farm, sustainability is our legacy. Join us in nurturing the land, caring for our cows, and building a brighter, more sustainable future.
From cover crops to winning the Iowa Soybean Production contest, the Maxwell’s strive to be leaders rather than followers.
Our farm is dedicated to engaging individuals through the experience of food and modern agricultural practices.
